The project team: (1) Prof. Devendra Kumar Mishra (Principal Investigator), Department of Physics, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India, (2) Dr. Sunil Kumar Mishra (Indian Co-PI), Physics Department, IIT-BHU, Varanasi, India, (3) Prof. Matteo G A Paris (University of Milano, Italy, Foreign PI), (4) Dr. Stefano Olivares (University of Milano, Italy, Foreign Co-PI). The research focuses on precise characterization of quantum states and operations of interest to build quantum computers in the noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) era. The NISQ era is defined by imperfect qubit/qumodes and operations, making the precise characterization of quantum components and processes a critical bottleneck. This project will address this challenge by advancing the framework of quantum multiparameter estimation, moving beyond single-parameter protocols to simultaneously characterize the several parameters determining the working regimes of quantum computers.
